Before Somna
Before Somna, Una Carter worked at an export trading company. It wasn't a bad job: no office drama, no midnight emails from the boss. But it never felt like hers. Every morning she put on her business-casual uniform, nodded along in meetings, and checked off to-do lists someone else had written. She was good at it. She just wasn't in it. Somewhere along the way, she realized she'd been shaped by a place that was never really hers. And you can't stay in the wrong place forever. So she left, and started Somna.
Why "Somna"
The name Somna comes from the Latin words for sleep and dreams. We want to make pieces you'll want to put on the second you see them: pieces that feel like you, and help you come back to yourself when it's just you, as easy and beautiful as a good dream. But Somna isn't only about dreaming. To us, it also stands for passion, courage, and freedom: the courage to go looking for where you belong, the passion that makes life feel like your own, and the freedom to express yourself however you like. And honestly? We think the world could use more beautiful lingerie that lets you do exactly that.
The Team
Right now, Somna Studio is six people. There's a programmer who always secretly wanted to be a designer. A tailor who ran an old-school tailor shop for decades. A guy who buys a lottery ticket every single Friday (still waiting on that one). A model who was born for the camera. A photographer who never says no to dessert. And a brand-new, very excited version of Una. Every one of us is doing what we actually want to do. Maybe it's not the path we were "supposed" to take. But isn't it worth a shot? Maybe living life on your own terms isn't as out of reach as it seems.

SOMNA makes handmade lace and pearl lingerie. The Margot collection is a lace slip, a pearl body chain, and the set. Each piece is made by hand. We dispatch within 7–15 days, and shipping, customs, and duties are included.
Every piece and every body chain is made by hand. From sourcing materials to designing, sewing, and finally sending it out to you, each step carries a little of our team's effort and heart. Our hope is simple: when a Somna piece arrives at your door, may it help you find a little more of yourself, and a little more of your own kind of freedom.
